As the name already said – kitchen cabinets are pieces of furniture used in the kitchen. Cabinets are used to store dishes, utensils, food, etc. and are arranged around the wall area of a kitchen. Thy can come in variety of sizes and can consist of only one cabinet or come in a kit consisting of various pieces of furniture.
There are two main types of kitchen cabinets, they are: face framed cabinets and frameless cabinets, the latter is sometimes also referred to as "European-style" cabinets.
As you begin to shop for kitchen cabinets, you'll discover a nearly overwhelming variety: laminates, hardwoods, veneers, lacquered finishes and much more in hundreds of different styles, configurations and sizes. You'll find ready-to-assemble cabinets that can outfit a kitchen for a quite small sum of money and high-end cabinets that may cost more than many houses. The styles used typically range from contemporary laminates to traditional hardwoods like oak and cherry, some producers also offer several finishes on natural woods.
To make the right decision while buying a kitchen cabinet be sure you know, what you are looking for. Look closely at your floor plan and find out what type and size cabinet would be the most functional for your home.

Comment by: Richard Seaberg 2008-06-08 01:40 | My Riviera cabinets were bought & installed by me in 1989. They're still in fine shape, but I tried to use the touch-up pen that came with them today and (no surprise) it was dried-up. The label has "Autumn Gold 262-2397" on it. What are the odds that this color stain is still available?
Thanks.

The opening is actually 15 1/2" . We want to keep this style cabinet we just need to fill the opening where a trash compactor use to sit. I was wondering if you could be of any assistance?

Comment by: Roger Howard 2008-10-15 02:27 | My Riviera cabinet were purchased in 1978 as part of a Build-it-your-self home from Capp Homes. They are oak with solid wood fronts with door insets fitted with a bead around the inside of the door. The wood is dark oak and the style is a two inch rim around the door. This rim has an indintation or inverse contour into the certer of the two inch rims.
I would love to expand the cabinet in my kitchen without tradiing out the existing cabinets. In a word, I would like to add more of these, if I can get a match. Please respond with options and product information at your convenience. Thank you.
